METERED SUPPLY BRINGS DOWN WATER BILLS

The water supply scheme of Singhpura Village, Kharar, S.A.S. Nagar was commissioned in 2008 and today 1,00,000 litres of water is produced daily for the 181 households and the village has set an example for other villages as well. Interestingly, GPSWC members are brought to this village for exposure visits. Large 100 mm bulk size water meter at water works has been installed in addition to individual 15 mm water meters so that water wastage can be checked. It is evident from the facts that now Rs 17,800 average water bill has been brought down to Rs 14,500.The villagers are getting round the clock supply and the motor runs for six hours daily.
